Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Development Opportunities

Location: Lyon - Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join a growing Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs function within a leading international chemicals organisation. This role sits at the intersection of science, regulation, and commercial strategy, supporting a diverse portfolio of applications across highly regulated markets including food contact, healthcare, cosmetics, and technical materials.

You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting business activities, and contributing to the successful commercialisation of innovative products across multiple regions.

This role offers a unique blend of strategic and operational regulatory exposure across multiple regulated markets. Working within a business that actively invests in its regulatory function, you will be involved in shaping processes, improving systems, and supporting decision-making that directly impacts product development and market access. This creates a strong platform for developing both technical depth and broader regulatory strategy experience.

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of regulatory processes and guidelines
• Monitor regulatory developments across multiple regulated markets (e.g. food contact, cosmetics, healthcare, textiles)
• Respond to customer regulatory enquiries, including certificates and technical questionnaires
• Prepare and manage conformity assessment files and regulatory documentation (e.g. petitions, position papers)
• Support international subsidiaries with regulatory compliance and certification requirements
• Provide regulatory input into commercial activities and customer interactions
• Support customer audits and regulatory inspections
• Collaborate with R&D to support product development and commercialisation
• Assess regulatory impact of formulation, raw material, and process changes
• Supervise preparation of regulatory documentation and ensure quality and timely delivery
• Act as a technical point of contact for junior team members and support knowledge sharing

• Degree (Master's, PhD, or Engineering) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
• Initial experience or strong interest in Regulatory Affairs within the chemicals industry
• Knowledge of regulated markets such as food contact materials, cosmetics, or healthcare
• Understanding of key chemical regulations (e.g. REACH, CLP) is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs
• Experience with SAP or similar systems is beneficial
• Fluent English (professional level)
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
