About Growing with us

In this role you will:

• Work with business teams to understand requirements, and translate them into technical needs
• Directly engage with external data partners to evaluate and build relationships to acquire and access real-world data assets
• Collect and mine data from disparate data sources, and willing to dig deeper and understand the process that creates the data
• Define and refine how Data Science can accelerate Sanofi digital products, with the goal of using data science to better understand the patient journey and to help us tailor interventions that maximize patient benefit
• Proficient at collecting and mining data from disparate data sources, and willing to dig deeper and understand the process that creates the data
• Identify opportunities for data-centric AI approaches to enrich M&S models
• Use data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies to scope, define and deliver AI-based data products to accelerate and optimize manufacturing and supply chain
• Understanding and effectively work with a wide variety of data sources, such as structured and unstructured data, IoT data
• Generate work product that includes interactive visualizations, presentations, publications, web applications, predictive algorithms, and APIs
• Build models, algorithms, simulations, and performance evaluation by writing highly optimized, deployable code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologies
• Regularly evaluate data assets and identify potential impact on downstream analysis
• Build, manage and lead a team made of data analyst and data scientist
• Work in close relationship with data engineers and full stack engineers
• Assist and train assistants and other members of the team on how to properly organize findings and read data collected

About you

You are a dynamic data scientist interested in challenging the status quo to ensure development and impact of Sanofi's AI solutions for the patients of tomorrow. You are an influencer and leader who has deployed AI/ML solutions applying state-of-the art algorithms with technically robust lifecycle management. You have a keen eye for improvement opportunities and a demonstrated ability to deliver AI/ML solutions while working across different technologies and in a cross-functional environment.

Experience:

• More than 8 to 10 years' experience
• Experience developing deployable code and deploying models in product-focused development under an agile environment
• Experience in production-ready software development
• Excellent business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling skills
• Excellent management and articulation of a team of Data Scientists and data analysts
• Continuous support to help team members throughout their personal and professional development
• Experience in a healthcare or manufacturing company is a strong plus

Soft skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results
• Service-oriented, flexible, positive team player
• Self-motivated, takes initiative
• Problem solving & critical thinking

Technical skills :

• Expertise in business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling
• Expertise with core data science languages (such as Python, R, C++), and familiarity with different database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Graph, timeseries)
• Expertise with sensitive data in critical environments (healthcare, defense)
• Expertise within most of the following areas: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, LLMs, reinforcement learning, federated learning, time series forecasting, Bayesian statistics, optimization
• Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Apache Spark)
• Hands-on AI/ML modeling experience of complex datasets combined with strong understanding of theoretical foundations of AI/ML (CI/CD, Orchestration)
• Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit or similar
• Experience with various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (API's)
• Experience with database mining, big data, and large-scale virtual screening using Bayesian Optimization or Gaussian Processes is desired
• Strong knowledge of Data and AI regulations

Education:

• Master's degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, computational sciences or a related quantitative discipline OR PhD + 3 years of relevant work & domain experience

Languages:

• English, French
