Our client is an innovative, fast-growing company specialized in developing cutting-edge technological solutions in the medical sector. With a committed team, they design high value-added products to transform healthcare professionals' practices.
As part of its growth, our client is looking for an R&D Manager to lead its software development projects and help structure the growth of the technical team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the R&D Manager will be responsible for both the operational and functional management of a 6-person team, with upcoming recruitment opportunities. This key position will drive technological developments and support the company’s innovation and expansion ambitions.

Requirements

Your Responsibilities :

• Team management : operational and functional leadership, skills development support, team structuring, recruitment planning.
• Product development management : coordination of software projects (C++ application, Web applications, Cloud environment).
• Upstream research : needs analysis, technical scoping, feasibility studies.
• Design & Development process management : ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304), participation in internal and external audits.
• Contribution to technical documentation for medical devices.
• External technical interface : liaising with partners, clients, experts.
• Support in securing funding (technical reports, R&D files, etc.).
• Cross-departmental coordination : interface between R&D, quality, clinical, product, and sales teams.
• Involvement in product requirement expression and functional specifications.
• Management of R&D subcontracting and R&D budget.
• Active participation in the company’s steering committee.
  
  

Profile Sought :

• Skills in Machine Learning / AI
• Strong team management skills and excellent communication
• Solid understanding of regulated environments (medical devices or other regulated sectors)
• Initiative-driven, able to work in an agile environment, build a vision, and take calculated risks
• Fluent in English (written, spoken, read) – international context, frequent interactions

Education & Experience :

• Master’s degree (Bac+5 or equivalent) – Engineering or related field
• Proven experience (5-7+ years) in R&D management, ideally in MedTech, medical devices, or highly regulated environments
• Mastery of ISO 13485 , IEC 62304 , and Design Control standards
• Strong expertise in software development
• Solid skills in mathematics / data science
• Experience in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence appreciated
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders (regulatory, product, clinical, commercial)
