Old Skull Games (OSG) is an independent studio of around 60 talented creators working across mobile, console, and PC. Our projects span multiple genres — from platformers to roguelites to narrative experiences — giving our teams the opportunity to explore creativity in diverse ways.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our programming team and actively contribute to the development of engaging, high-quality games. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with passionate designers, developers, artists, animators, and game directors to transform game ideas into concrete, polished features.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable gameplay systems
• Contribute to structuring the technical architecture of our games
• Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure game intentions are translated into gameplay features
• Maintain high standards of code quality throughout production: code review, best practices, and documentation
• Anticipate technical challenges and propose innovative solutions
• Continuously improve development workflows and processes
• Stay updated with the latest technology trends to fuel innovation within the studio
• Work in a rigorous and structured coding environment , ensuring reliability and maintainability

Qualifications & Skills

• 8+ years of professional experience in game programming
• Excellent command of Unity (C#) ; experience with console development on Unity is a plus
• Strong understanding of game feel and gameplay mechanics
• Autonomy, rigor, and a strong sense of responsibility
• Comfortable with Agile methodologies , experimental thinking, and design proposal
• Team-oriented with a positive, solution-driven attitude
• Passion for the entertainment industry: games, cinema, series, and music
• Bonus: familiarity with Unreal Engine
• Fluency in French and/or English is a plus
• Enjoys mentoring and helping colleagues develop their skills
